ROOT CANAL THERAPY

ROOT CANAL THERAPY SERVICES OFFERED IN DEL RAY BEACH FL

What is root canal therapy?

Root canal therapy at Coastline Family Dental uses a high-tech rotary instrument to clean out and fill infected root canals inside of your teeth. Unlike traditional root canal equipment, rotary tools are quiet and smooth, allowing your provider to avoid loud, grinding sounds during the procedure.

This makes root canals at Coastline Family Dental a comfortable, pain-free experience for patients.

Our office uses a Dentsply WaveOne® rotary tool to complete root canals, which decreases the time required to clean infected teeth by up to 40% compared with other rotary tools.

Undergoing a root canal in the early stages of tooth decay is the best way to avoid painful complications, including loose or missing permanent teeth.

What are the signs I might need root canal therapy?

Signs you may need a root canal include:

  • Tooth, gum, or facial swelling
  • Toothache
  • Tooth or gum tenderness
  • Pain with cold and heat
  • Pus near the gumline
  • Tooth discoloration
  • Tooth sensitivity
  • Pain with chewing

Come see us at the first sign of a problem; the earlier you seek treatment, the better the outcome.

Is root canal therapy right for me?

Your Coastline Family Dental specialist examines your gums and teeth and takes dental X-rays to find out if you’re a candidate for root canal therapy. They also review your symptoms and oral health history before developing a customized treatment plan

What happens during a root canal?

During root canal therapy, we numb the treatment area, and offer sedation dentistry to help you relax before opening up the top part of your tooth.

Your dentist then gently removes infected pulp from inside of the tooth. They clean it out, fill the empty root canal chamber, and seal the tooth closed.

The Coastline Family Dental team may place a crown over the top of a treated tooth to further protect it and reduce the chance of future issues.

What happens after root canal therapy?

After you undergo a root canal at Coastline Family Dental, the treated tooth may be temporarily tender. Take good care of it by not chewing on sticky candy or hard objects. Brush your teeth after meals, floss daily, and attend professional dental cleanings at least every six months.
